Ultimaker 3 – Professional 3D Printing made AccessibleThe Ultimaker 3, the latest 3D printer released by the Dutch 3D printing company Ultimaker, was showcased at the Forestals stand during the Malta Robotics Olympiad. The Ultimaker 3 is a professional yet accessible 3D printer with reliable dual extrusion and swappable print cores. It also features wireless control, with WiFi and Ethernet support, in addition to a USB port, so it can receive jobs over the internet or via the Ultimaker app, available for both iOS and Android. Featuring the same white plastic design as its predecessor the Ultimaker 2, the Ultimaker 3 has built-in LED lights which gives the printer a sophisticated sci-fi look. The Ultimaker 3 boasts a large build volume yet fits conveniently on an office desk. It comes with print cores for build and support materials, and there is a customised nozzle geometry per material, resulting in a reduced risk of clogging and a more reliable 3D printing experience. The major innovation in the Ultimaker 3 is a redesigned printhead, which includes two swappable extruders so the printer can print from two reels of filament at once, and printing can be done in two colours or with two different materials. Featuring a build plate that’s lighter and stiffer, the Ultimaker 3 has less vibrations which translates into an unrivalled print quality. The Ultimaker 3 can print not only with standard materials like PLA and ABS, but also with other materials such as nylon and copolyester (CPE) which require higher temperatures. 3D printing projects can be monitored at any stage via a live camera simply by connecting to WiFi. The Ultimaker 3 comes with free lifetime technical support and warranty provided by certified support experts worldwide. “Production of 3D printers worldwide have been averaging almost 300% growth per year in recent years,” said John Farrugia Randon, Print Services Product Manager at Forestals, “and we have also been experiencing an increase in interest in Malta.” “The use of 3D printing has grown in a variety of industries, including education, architecture & engineering, fashion, automotive, manufacturing, amongst others, “concluded Farrugia Randon. The range of Ultimaker 3D Printers are available for viewing at the Forestals Head Office in Mriehel. For more information call on 23436000 or send an email to info@forestals.com |
